christmas?

The weather has finally turned sour here. It's been drizzling all day, and now it is officially raining cats and dogs, according to Ryan. It was 65 degrees and sunny yesterday, so I guess we deserve this. Tonight Ryan spontaneously decided to take me to dinner while we were at the Pru (it's an upscale mall with lots of shops and restaraunts), and we both had rare steaks and shrimp scampi. It was a nice break from dining hall dinners, which are definitely not bad, but not rare-steak-good.

This is a concert-intensive week for me. Tomorrow night Ryan has his Contemporary Wind Orchestra concert (for which he remembered tonight that he needs a black oxford for, that's why we were at the Pru), Saturday the Filipino club at BU is hosting a big Filipino performace, and Ryan's Filipino club at Berklee is performing, and Sunday is the BU dance showcase, in which Step About Boston, my Irish dance group, is dancing. Hopefully we're ready for that, we're a little short on rehearsals and the number of people in the dance has changed like 10 times.

So all of a sudden, everywhere is Christmas. Newbury Street, where I work, is completely decked out; the trees have white lights in them, and all the shops and boutiques have Christmasy window displays. I would like it, but since it's not soon enough to Christmas, not even all the decorations make it feel like Christmas to me. They just seem out of place right now. However, not everyone seems to realize it's not the Christmas season yet. People are coming into Gap in swarms already, and it's not even Thanksgiving. Thank god I'll be at home for the weekend after Thanksgiving, and not at work.

Good luck (or break a leg) in your dance performance. I'm sure you guys will do well.
